Nine mahadashas
Ketu 7, Venus 20, Sun 6, Moon 10, Mars 7, Rahu 18, Jupiter 16, Saturn 19, Mercury 17 — 120 years in total.
Each mahadasha contains antardashas, pratyantardashas and finer levels.
Starting from the Moon nakshatra
The first mahadasha is ruled by the lord of the Moon nakshatra. The fraction already travelled is subtracted from the period.
That is why two people in the same nakshatra can have different start dates.
